Santo Domingo North School

Santo Domingo North School (MIANCERG) is located on the western side of the nation’s capital. The program was founded to address the urgent need for education in an impoverished and violent barrio where many children were not attending school in their early years. Today, the school provides Christian education to 240 students, from ages 3 through 7th grade.

Despite being near a major city, the community struggles with limited access to education, healthcare, and social services. It is marked by broken families, a weak church presence, high rates of teenage pregnancy, single-parent households, and extreme poverty. The school serves as a beacon of hope, offering stability and support to the children and their families.

Starting this fall, Santo Domingo North is expanding to 7th grade!

At the request of the Ministry of Education, our students can now continue learning and growing in a safe, Christ-centered environment from preschool through middle school—a huge step forward in keeping young people on track academically and spiritually in one of the capital’s most challenged communities.

Current Ways to Pray

Pray that more students would be inspired to share testimonies of how God has worked in their lives, and that the truths they learn at school would touch the hearts of their family members and draw them closer to God.
Ask God to provide unity, wisdom, and strength for the staff, as well as additional Christian team members to serve the growing student body, including the expansion to 7th grade.
Pray for God’s provision of needed resources—staffing, materials, and facilities—and for His protection over the school community and surrounding neighborhood.
We are welcoming a new class of 24 preschoolers who will hear the Gospel and experience life-changing care. Pray that each child would encounter Christ personally and grow in His love.
Pray for the 12 students in the Student Champion program who are still waiting for their first sponsor. Pray that God would connect them with supporters who will invest in their future.
