About Residential Care

Casa Monte Plata was established in 2004 and has since grown to include four homes, a director’s residence, a multi-use building, and an independence home. With a capacity for 32 children and youth, the site provides a safe and nurturing environment for those arriving in protective custody, many of whom must relearn to trust adults.

Monte Plata province faces extreme poverty, making access to higher education and professional training a significant challenge for youth. Neglect and family violence are widespread, while essential social and medical services remain limited for those most in need.

Current Ways to Pray

  • In March, we launched a campaign to recruit new house parents for each of our residential programs. Join us in earnestly praying for God to raise up faith-filled, energetic Christian couples to serve, and for God to prepare their hearts for the work set before them.

  • After hiring additional house parents, we plan to open additional homes across each residential campus — opening capacity to house 6-8 more vulnerable children per site.

  • Pray for effective social work support for the youth currently in transition from our residential programs into living independently.

  • Pray for continued financial partnership to support the costs of effective and efficient ministry in our residential programs.

  • Student Champions – Pray for provision of sponsors for the 22 students still waiting to be matched with a Student Champion, so each child receives encouragement and support.
