Meet the Director: Eliud
Eliud joined the Kids Alive team as Director of Casa Monte Plata in July 2024, but his connection to the ministry goes back much further. His parents, Juana and Ramón Prenza, founded Casa Monte Plata in 2004.
Even before the program officially began, Eliud remembers his father’s deep heart for serving vulnerable children through residential ministry. He recalls the early days of Casa Monte Plata with remarkable clarity—even remembering many of the children by name who have come through the program over the years.
Eliud shares a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to serve vulnerable children through residential care. He values the commitment of their multidisciplinary team and the shared mission of transforming young lives. At the same time, he acknowledges the emotional weight of walking alongside children who have faced such difficult realities at such young ages. “It’s not just a story or something from a cartoon—this is the real life each child is living,” Eliud says. “Whether they’re one, two, three, or ten years old—in their young lives, they face real struggles. But even when it’s hard, God has called us for this purpose. He makes what seems impossible, possible—and that’s why He uses us.”
When offered the position of director, Eliud found strength in the story of Joshua—especially in God’s words: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9).
When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Eliud says, “I truly enjoy all aspects of my work—being able to transform an uncertain future into a more certain one for a child.”
We praise God for the work He is doing through Eliud at Casa Monte Plata. Join us in praying that the Lord continues to strengthen him in wisdom and give him rest in the coming year.
