Residential: Tiempo De Familia

Family Camp with Residential Programs

Each year during Holy Week—Semana Santa—something truly special happens across our three residential programs: Family Camp. This beloved tradition, known in Spanish as tiempo de familia, brings together our residential children, youth, and dedicated staff for several days of connection, celebration, and spiritual growth.

This year, Family Camp was hosted at the Ark Constanza campus, nestled in the mountains and filled with space to run, play, and grow. Throughout the week, our kids and youth took part in an energetic mix of activities: foot races, creative crafts, mountain hikes, volleyball games, joyful music, and of course, delicious shared meals. But beyond the fun, there were age-appropriate devotions and meaningful worship woven into every day.

Many of the children and youth in our care come into our program without a model of healthy family or community dynamics. Family Camp is a beautiful picture of the secure and intentional care that Kids Alive residential programs curate in the lives of these young people. We see older youth assisting with the younger ones, staff fostering loving guidance through games and conversations, and a culture of healthy competition and teamwork thriving. Perhaps most beautifully, it’s a time when everyone comes together—united by love and a shared devotion to God.

Family Camp is more than just a highlight of the year; it’s a sacred space where healing, belonging, and faith take root.
