When I grow up…

At Eva May Russell School in Monte Plata, dreams took center stage as students dressed up for Career Day. This special event gave each child the chance to imagine their future—and share it with others.

A flight attendant, a nurse, and a construction worker

Young doctors in lab coats, engineers with hard hats, aspiring professors, future lawyers, and professional athletes—all confidently stepping into the roles they hope to one day fill.

It was more than just a dress up day. For many of these students, life at home means focusing on the present—helping their families meet the daily needs of food, shelter, and security. In communities like this, children aren’t often asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Dreaming about the future can feel like a distant luxury. That’s what makes this day so monumental.

Thanks to the opportunities provided through a Kids Alive school, those dreams aren’t just wishful thinking. With access to quality education, mentorship, and even university scholarships for those who continue their studies, these ambitions can become a true possibility.

Please join us in praying for these students—that God would strengthen their hearts and minds, keep them grounded in their studies, and guide them as they grow into the unique calling He has placed on each of their lives.
