Dolby pursuing Bible training

Dolby entered the Kids Alive DR Palo Blanco School as a 3-year-old, the son of Haitian immigrants with minimal resources. Growing up Dolby faced ongoing health challenges in spite of medical interventions and aid from the school. When his struggles seemed to peak in high school, his life and faith took a turn toward Jesus when his mentor at the school reached out in a moment of need.

Dolby graduated high school in 2023, was hired as an assistant teacher and quickly promoted to the elementary PE teacher. During these years serving children, working with visiting service teams, and deepening his involvement in his local church, he felt God calling him to missions. An avid learner, Dolby participated in the Life Skills Job Skills Course and Entrepreneurship Simulation. In September, Dolby became the first KADR graduate to pursue biblical training at Word of Life (Palabra de Vida) on the southwestern Dominican coast.

The nine-month certificate program combines intensive study of the Bible with practical application of living it out in community—equipping young men and women for ministry and leadership. For Dolby, this will not only deepen his own faith, but will prepare him for a lifetime of evangelism, discipleship, and service. His desire is to share the gospel wherever the Lord leads him. After his first week, he shared with joy, “I believe this was the best week of my life because of the studies and the people.”

We pray that Dolby’s decision and trailblazing will inspire other graduates to consider ministry and Bible training, stepping into adulthood with faith, vision, and courage.
